So, I know I am supposed to post on Wednesdays, but I wanted to actually document this past Wednesday, which is why I am posting today, which is a Thursday. So this is a special circumstance as I am supposed to post on Wednesdays. Why? I have conducted exhaustive research and determined that the optimal time to post a blog is Wednesday at 11:00AM. What were my research methods? I used the Google and perused like the top 5 or 6 entries and they said Wednesday at 11:00AM. So that’s what I do. Well, actually now that I think about it, I post at 11:00AM for me with is EST. I cannot factor in time zones. I simply know from my exhaustive research that 11:00AM on Wednesday is the optimal time to post. But maybe 9:00 in Colorado is fine. And 8:00 in California is probably fine. Hawaii, you’re kind of screwed. I have no idea of the time difference between me and Japan. Crap. Well, sorry, all of my readers in Asia. I can’t do math or figure out time zones and they really are quite math-y. I also only know English, a small amount of Spanish and Portuguese and an essentially useless amount of French. Perhaps none of this is not as air-tight as I’d thought...
So, “may the 4th be with you”—get it? It’s a real thing. We are are a Star Wars family. My kids love Star Wars as much as I do. If they drop out of college or if they make it through college but then move into my basement for an extended period of time, if they turn into staunch conservatives, if they fail to provide me with grandchildren, I’ll still place my experience as a parent in the W column for the fact that I have passed along my love of Star Wars.
TIE Fighter Bar.
Last year was the first year we celebrated Star Wars Day and it was immediately a huge hit. This is what you do: watch all the movies in order—or as many as you can—and make Star Wars inspired food. We do a TIE Fighter bar with savory and sweet options, Star Wars mac-n-cheese and grape light sabers. I was going to shake it up this year and try some new stuff but kids typically hate when you change things up on them and now that I started it out this way, I’ll be making the same stuff for Star Wars Day when they are in their 30s. Because I fully expect them to be celebrating Star Wars Day when they are in their 30s. In fact, I fully expect them to take that day off from work to celebrate Star Wars Day with me. Unless they are all unemployed and living in my basement in which case they can just come upstairs. Either way, I want to be making grape light sabers when I’m 70.
(I fully expect him to wear this shirt every Star Wars Day forever.)
I hope your May the 4th was amazing no matter what you did! You go out there now and have a fantastically happy Thursday! And may the Force be with you. (Obviously.)
