Women’s and Contemporary Book Club Fiction
Capturing the quiet gravity and grace of women’s ordinary lives
I write stories that celebrate the beauty and strength of women’s everyday experiences, weaving relationships, personal growth, and life’s unexpected turns.
For as far back as my memory reaches, stories have been my home. Growing up on the south coast of Massachusetts, my summers were measured in chapters read on our favorite beach. I was the child tucked away on the stairs after Thanksgiving dinner, lost in a book while the world socialized without me. In my twenties, I read through every commute on the T, and today, I still find my sanctuary in those quiet pages—early weekend mornings before the house stirs or late nights before sleep. (I wish I could still read after Thanksgiving dinner, but I have been informed it is not polite.)
Writing is how I navigate the chaos; it is my way of locating myself in a noisy world. By centering women’s lives, I aim to peel back the layers of the everyday to reveal that our “ordinary” lives are anything but. My hope is to write stories that serve as a mirror, helping readers feel seen, empathized with, comforted, and illuminate that we are far more alike than we are different.

It’s hard to maintain faith. When the story hits a seeming dead end, when I need to write the next bit but I’m staring at the wall with no roadmap whatsoever, when I’m starting to doubt that the story is going anywhere at all. When I’m in a cold sweat, convinced I’m an imposter.

We dropped off our twins at college last weekend. I am… So, here’s the truth: I wrote “I am,” got distracted, and now I am not sure what I was going to say. Maybe because what “I am” presently shifts by the hour, but I’ll give it a shot.

For me, not writing as a daily practice feels a bit like wandering around, a little lost.
