Melissa Corliss DeLorenzo

HELLO AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING!

For as far back as my memory reaches, stories have been my home. Growing up on the south coast of Massachusetts, my summers were measured in chapters read on our favorite beach. I was the child tucked away on the stairs after Thanksgiving dinner, lost in a book while the world socialized without me. In my twenties, I read through every commute on the T, and today, I still find my sanctuary in those quiet pages—early weekend mornings before the house stirs or late nights before sleep. (I wish I could still read after Thanksgiving dinner, but I have been informed it is not polite.)

Writing is how I navigate the chaos; it is my way of locating myself in a noisy world. By centering women’s lives, I aim to peel back the layers of the everyday to reveal that our “ordinary” lives are anything but. My hope is to write stories that serve as a mirror, helping readers feel seen, empathized with, and illuminate that we are far more alike than we are different.

I am the author of the novels The Mosquito Hours and Talking Underwater.
