Who's a Perfectionist? Me?

…wherein I overthink all the decisions!
There are so many decisions, the first of which: this newsletter. The heading design, the heading names, the heading topics. The newsletter structure, frequency, the platform. The length and tone and vibe. The colors, the fonts, the layout.
To each noun above, please insert the modifier “right” immediately after each “the.” Then if you know the exact right thing, please slide the answer key under my door. I kid, of course. (Unless you actually have it.)
But this is neither the time nor the place to shift into a diatribe about perfectionism. Or maybe it is? When I think about it, I honestly don’t think there is anything wrong with being a perfectionist. We are chasers of ideals—we spend our lives being motivated by inspiring ideas and working toward something bigger than ourselves. There is little more exciting than joy-driven motivation! But sometimes our perfectionism is driven by fear: Is this the right newsletter platform, topic, header? Did I choose the right colors and fonts? This line of thinking leads to decision paralysis, when all along what we’re really asking is, “Am I going to have to endure the shame of failure, exposure, ridicule, judgment?” or, at the very least, “This is uncomfortable, and I don’t think I like how I feel.”
